Vehicle F206073 was part of Contract No. T/M10545, dated 12 December 1941 which covered 1,206 vehicles described originally as Scout Cars Mark II with the Daimler Company of Coventry. However the contract was clearly altered at some stage after which vehicles were completed to Mark III standard like our exhibit.
When it fist arrived here, in 1987, this Dingo carried the civil registration 108RNM and it also sported a pair of the post-war style six-barreled smoke grenade dischargers, which were later removed. This suggests that it saw service after 1948 and would probably have carried a post-war registration in the ZR series until sold out of service.
