Vehicle History

One of a proving series of DD tanks used to test the technology before the system was applied to the Sherman tank. Test landings were carried out prior to D Day on the south coast of England.
Post-war obtained as surplus by a farmer, who converted it for use as a bulldozer. Acquired privately by a civil servant who spent many years restoring it. The Duplex Drive and water skirts all work. Took part in a commemoration landing in 2004 and at Tankfest 2004.
